About the Role
Job Title: Day Cab - HGV Driver
Location: Bromborough
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:15pm
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are seeking a reliable and professional HGV Driver to join our team. This will be
driving a range of vehicles in our fleet of static curtain-sider and flat back wagons,
operating Monday to Friday, day hours only. Overtime may be required from time to time
due to early starts to get specific job in or late back due to traffic etc but never overnight.
Carrying timber and building products, delivering majority northwest based.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient and timely movement
of goods while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Operating up to 26T day cab vehicle safely and in accordance with all legal
requirements
* Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly
* Assist with loading and unloading of goods where necessary
* Ensuring loads are secured correctly and safely
* Maintaining accurate relevant paperwork and compliance documentation
* Working closely with yard and transport teams
* Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and professionalism at all times
* Occasional handballing off load of product, manual handling
* Reporting any vehicle issues, incidents and roadside checks promptly
Requirements
Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence (clean driving licence with no serious
endorsements)
* Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
* Digital Tachograph Card
* Good knowledge of driving Regulations, road safety and Highway Code
* Strong timekeeping and organisational skills
* Professional, courteous manner and good customer service skills
Desirable (not essential)
* Proven previous experience driving a range of vehicles up to 26T
* Strong knowledge of UK road networks and route planning
* Forklift licence
* Previous experience and/or knowledge of timber and timber related products
