MEDICAL ASSISTANT – ATLANTIC WOMEN'S GROUP – PHYSICIAN PRACTICE

Overview

The Medical Assistant supports physicians by ensuring efficient and high‑quality patient care.
Responsibilities
* Measure and record vital signs.
* Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint.
* Provide patient education regarding office policies, medications, treatment plans, and dietary recommendations.
* Assist physicians with exams and minor office procedures.
* Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests.
* Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform first‑aid procedures.
* Use CPR skills when required.
* Maintain supplies, equipment, provide inventory management, and sterilize instruments.
* Practice OSHA safety and infection‑control standards.
* Document clinical information accurately, legally, and ethically at all times.
* Triage patient phone calls and review prescriptions as directed by the physician.
* Perform other duties as assigned that support essential job functions, subject to changes based on individual circumstances.
* Perform phlebotomy.
* Carry out administrative tasks and projects as needed.
* Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
* Lift and move up to 5 lbs., push/pull up to 5 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 1 hour per day.
Qualifications
* Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Interpersonal: Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
* Work environment: Ability to work in a fast‑paced setting.
* Technical skill: Knowledge of computerized processes and data‑entry procedures.
* Preferred experience: Minimum 2‑3 years as a Medical Assistant.
* Preferred certification: Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
Licenses and Certifications
* Required: AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification.
* Preferred: Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
Compensation
Minimum rate of $21.33 per hour. The posted rate is a good‑faith estimate and does not reflect the full total rewards package.
