Main responsibilities: - In addition to those normal duties as outlined in the V.Ships VMS, the Dispatcher is responsible for: · Working under direct supervision of the Hotel Service Engineer to address any issues related to guest and crew accommodations or facilities. - Working closely with all technical sub-departments and other departments onboard. - Communicating and coordinating instructions between various departments and sub-departments to ensure the smooth operation of all shipboard activities. - Maintaining detailed logs and records of defects. - Adhering and complying with all company policies and procedures, manuals and directives. - Performing duties and tasks according to above but not limited to that. Key Responsibilities Additional responsibilities: - Attend passenger social events as directed by the Head of Department. - Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as directed by the Head of Department. - Other shipboard tasks pertaining to departmental operations as directed by Head of Department. - Attending trainings and office visits arranged by Ships Leisure where possible Education/Experience/Qualifications: Valid STCW95 certification. Strong administrative skills. Ability to work in a multicultural environment. Physically and medically fit. Moral integrity is required. Experience in a previous administrative position preferably in a crewing, clearance or Human resources field. Shipboard experience is considered an asset. Benefits Fluency in English is essential. Excellent verbal and written English skills are required. English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Other languages will be considered an asset. Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft applications. Excellent typing skills. Fidelio experience would be considered an asset.
