Press Tool Design Engineer Salary: £45,000 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week (4-day working week) Location: Redditch About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Press Tool Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role focuses on the design and development of small to medium-sized press tooling, supporting both new and existing manufacturing projects. Reporting to the Manufacturing & Operations Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality tooling solutions from concept through to production, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities * Design and develop press tools, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software * Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD * Manage tooling projects from concept through to first production run * Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and toolroom teams * Liaise with customers and external suppliers to ensure design feasibility and cost efficiency * Support tooling improvements for enhanced manufacturing performance and quality * Assist with troubleshooting production issues and resolving tooling-related problems * Maintain accurate tooling documentation and technical specifications * Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business * Assist in maintaining QMS/EMS systems in line with ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100, and ISO14001 Skills & Experience Required * Proven experience in press tool design (small to medium tooling preferred) * Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD * Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models * Good understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. stamping, forming, tooling) * Knowledge of materials and their application in tooling * Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) * Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment * Familiarity with quality systems and continuous improvement practices * Good communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills What We Offer * Competitive salary of £45,000 * 4-day working week (37.5 hours) * Opportunity to work on diverse and technically challenging projects * Ongoing training and development opportunities * Supportive and collaborative working environment If you’re a proactive engineer looking to make an impact in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you
