Job Overview
The role is a fixed‑term secondment for 12 months, designed to meet the needs of the service. Only staff currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board are eligible to apply, and you must obtain permission from your current line manager before submitting an application.
The Pharmacy Technician will work within the Primary Care and Community services team and across the Integrated Care Hub (IHC), improving patient outcomes through medicines optimisation and safe, effective medication use.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide pharmacy services across IHC hospitals, GP practices and other clinical and non‑clinical areas in East Wales as required.
* Carry out medicines reconciliation and medication audits.
* Support structured medication reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
* Work closely with a clinical area such as antimicrobial stewardship or home care.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in patient‑centred care.
* Travel within East Wales to deliver services as needed.
* Work weekends and public holidays on a rota basis, as part of standard working hours.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Niveau NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services with a BTEC National Certificate in Pharmacy Services, or equivalent.
* Accredited Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician qualification, or willingness to obtain this qualification.
* Experience working in a primary‑care pharmacy team, medicines management, or audit activities.
* Willingness to travel as required.
* Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.

* Welsh language proficiency is desirable.
