Overview
The UK&I Growth Markets Business Unit delivers approximately £580m in annual revenue and is targeting significant expansion toward 2030 and beyond. As a Commercial Manager, you will provide market‑aligned commercial support across both work‑winning and project delivery activities. This includes reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex client and supplier agreements, leading governance and approvals, supporting project teams on commercial challenges, and advising on formal disputes and claims.
You will operate within a high‑performing commercial team, contributing to improved commercial discipline, risk management, and business performance across the unit. Your Role
Provide commercial support to a designated market and across all Growth Markets for professional services, D&B and other contract types.
Support commercial processes, governance and project management activities in compliance with company policies.
Undertake contract and project reviews; draft and negotiate with clients and suppliers in collaboration with Legal through to contract execution.
Develop and implement commercial strategies and business improvements to strengthen competitive positioning.
Contribute to commercial capability initiatives including guidance, presentations and webinars.
Use performance data to enhance commercial compliance and identify improvement opportunities through technology and AI.
Support Business Unit, Regional and global initiatives to standardise processes and improve operational efficiency.
Work collaboratively with Operations Directors to drive improved project delivery outcomes.
Support the BU Commercial Director and Market Head of Commercial with governance, acting as delegate where required.
Manage commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining risk and opportunity registers.
Contribute to a high‑performing team environment through strong communication, collaboration and motivation.
Support the professional development of project and bid teams in commercial and contractual competencies.
About You
Good working knowledge of contract forms and commercial processes in engineering and infrastructure delivery environments.
Experience in commercial and/or project management within consultancy or related engineering sectors.
Commercial acumen and robust risk‑management capability.
Data‑driven decision‑making.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Appropriate degree and/or professional qualification (e.g., ICE, RIBA, RICS, CIOB).
Experience managing competing priorities.
Track record of commercial / project management expertise in engineering, professional services or built environment industries.
Experience of working in cross‑functional teams and driving commercial excellence.
Hold or be able to obtain UK Security clearance via United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV).
