Are you a passionate and dedicated early years professional looking to make a meaningful impact on a childs first steps in education? We are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our professional team and help shape a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where our youngest learners can thrive.

About WPT

At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: We never knowingly do less for other people’s children than we would for our own. As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school-to-school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.

About the Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will work as part of a dedicated team to support the delivery of high-quality Early Years Education and care. Under the guidance of a Teacher or Early Years Professional, you will play a pivotal role in creating a vibrant learning environment, tracking childrens progress, and building strong relationships with families. This is a brilliant opportunity for a proactive individual who wants to deliver tailored support, ensuring every child’s individual needs are met during these crucial formative years.

Responsibilities

* Environment & Safety: Create and maintain a welcoming early years environment, ensuring all activities are set up and that materials and equipment are safe and clean.
* Learning & Development: Contribute to the planning of learning activities, assisting staff in delivery and adapting tasks to support each childs unique development needs.
* Assessment & Tracking: Work with individuals or small groups to monitor and report on responses to activities, contributing to assessment procedures and maintaining accurate routine records.
* Classroom Management: Support the Teacher/Early Years Professional to ensure activities run smoothly, promoting positive behaviour and handling any incidents promptly in line with trust policy.
* Inclusion & SEND Support: Provide feedback to the class teacher, contributing to the assessment of needs and the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Keyworker Duties: Act as a keyworker for designated children, establishing positive, trusted relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
* Cover Supervision: Provide short-term cover supervision for the class in the temporary absence of the Teacher or Early Years Professional.
* Wellbeing & Care: Attend to the personal, emotional, and social needs of the children to ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
* Administrative Support: Carry out essential clerical duties to support the classroom teacher, including photocopying, laminating, and creating engaging pupil displays.

Qualifications

* Essential: Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent).
* Experience: Proven experience working within an Early Years setting, with a solid understanding of the EYFS framework.
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
* Attributes: A patient, nurturing approach with a commitment to inclusive practice and supporting children with diverse needs (including SEND).

Why Join Us?

* Competitive salary
* Generous Local Government (support staff) and Teacher Pension Schemes
* Health and Wellbeing, including a Westfield Health subscription
* Professional Growth and Development

*Closing Date: Noon, Wednesday 24th June 2026*
