Role Overview As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of SEND needs, including those with challenging behaviours. Working both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. This role is offered on a full-time, temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. It is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience in supportive school settings while making a genuine difference. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND. Assist students in overcoming challenges by adapting to their individual needs and learning styles. Support students with behavioural needs, helping them to develop strategies for self-regulation. Collaborate with class teachers to adapt resources and ensure full participation in lessons. Monitor and record student progress, sharing feedback with teachers and the SENDCO. Promote a positive and inclusive environment that encourages learning and personal growth. What We’re Looking For Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, youth work, residential care, or similar settings. Patience, empathy, and resilience when managing challenging behaviours. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND. A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
