A permanent post has become available within the Genetic Service for an individual qualified to SVQ3 level as a minimum, preferably with a Higher in a science subject. Previous laboratory experience is essential, including handling samples and reagents, and working with blood, tissue, and fetal material. This position is suitable for those wishing to start a career in Healthcare Science.
The successful applicants will work with the Technical Team under the supervision of Senior Practitioners and the Team Leader, performing a broad range of testing procedures on various samples. Handling patient samples and contributing to diagnostic reports require careful and meticulous work following standard operating procedures.
The Regional Genetic Service is a large, friendly team of Technical, Scientific, and Clinical staff providing services to patients and families from Tayside, NE Fife, and other parts of Scotland. The service offers modern, well-equipped facilities at Ninewells Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career within the NHS or gain experience in a diagnostic Genetic Service.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and adhere to the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
