This position is for a Nursery Classroom teacher
Heather Ridge Infant School is opening a brand-new nursery. This nursery will be embedded within our school, closely linked in every way to maximise the opportunities that school run nurseries can give young learners. Our nursery is currently under development and will open in January 2026. We are looking for a forward thinking, competent and enthusiastic nursery teacher, with a vision and passion to make our dreams and reality. You will help shape the nursery with your expertise; creating a stimulating environment that works for all children. The nursery will follow the Early Years Framework whilst carefully considering the learning of our current reception children. You will be fully supported by our Headteacher who has a wealth of experience with the early years sector. You will be at the forefront of management; ensuring ratios are maintained, organising staff calendars, speaking to parents etc. The nursery will be seeking to employ early years workers and/or nursery nurses and/or teaching assistants.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who is driven, has determination and is a hard worker. We hope to recruit as soon as possible to allow the successful applicant to have a say in the recruitment process, childcare hours, environment and everything else that comes with opening a new nursery!
The role involves operational management of the nursery facilities and staff, to ensure a high quality, balanced provision of leading practice education and care is always delivered. Responsible for adherence to whole school policies and procedures. Consistently meeting legislative requirements and following education curriculum, delivering standards to ensure highest possible inspection grading.
Ensure the training, support, mentoring and supervision of the staff team to inspire and lead ambitious practice. To create a safe, caring and welcoming setting in which parents are happy to entrust their child and where their child is encouraged and supported to flourish in an enabling and stimulating environment.
