The Health Care Operations Department are looking to recruit 2 temporary Waiting List Validation Co-Ordinators within the Data Team based at Leigh Infirmary, working 37.5hrs per week until the end of the 25/26 financial year.
It is essential that you possess experience of Patient Centre (CSC system) and a proven record of high level data entry accuracy. It is also desirable that you have a good level of knowledge and understanding of 18 weeks principles including RTT measurement.

NHS Employees should ideally secure their manager’s agreement for a secondment arrangement ideally prior to applying, as this will be a condition of any offer made. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis as it is funded on a non-recurrent basis and it will end in 6 months. Whilst this post is advertised on an acting / secondment basis there is the potential that this post may become permanent in the future
Main duties of the job
We require a motivated, enthusiastic individual who possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively within a team.
It is important that you have has first class customer service skills along with a professional telephone manner and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
You must also have knowledge of general office systems and protocols in a customer related environment.
It is necessary to be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change and altering work patterns. Will be covering various admin and clerical duties in line with service demands. Must be educated to GSCE level or equivalent.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key results from the job holder

§To have a good working knowledge and understanding of the Trust’s Patient Access Policy and the 18 week RTT National Standards
§To ensure that data is validated at all points on the patients’ pathways in line with the departmental work plan and priorities.
§To use and update multiple clinical information systems and databases to understand and track the patient pathways
§To proactively monitor and track 18 Week referrals in order to ensure that patient journeys are processed in a timely and efficient manner in line with nationally and locally defined targets.
§To liaise with relevant clinical teams to ensure the quality of validation is consistent with clinical practice.
§To request & track patient notes (where necessary) to gain accurate information when validating pathways
§Engage in collaborative problem solving with colleagues to share expert RTT knowledge
§Attend performance & PTL meetings as required
§Provide updates and reports to the Performance Team on performance issues within the specialities and ensure escalations are undertaken in a timely manner.
§Provide update reports to operational managers on validation findings to support best practice in recording RTT status and managing patient pathways
§Undertake any other tasks as may be reasonably expected as part of the role.
§Using the appropriate Trust systems in place to capture and record accurate PTL data
§Validating the weekly and monthly reports within agreed timescales
§To work with all directorates and Service managers to ensure that the 18 week wait incomplete data is accurate
§Monitor the PTLs to maintain accurate waiting times throughout the patient pathway

§To assist with RTT training for colleagues where appropriate.

§Liaise with other members of staff on rules and definitions to ensure understanding throughout the Trust on the 18 weeks.
§Staff will have a yearly Personal Development Plan set with their line manager during their appraisal. Staff will attend training courses that will enhance their skills in accordance with their departmental needs.

1. A level or equivalent standard of education or experience
2. Proficient in the use of internet and Microsoft Office systems
