Mould Repair Engineer

Role description
Repair and maintain glass bottle mould equipment to specifications to ensure that mould equipment meets production requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you
2. Follow the departments working procedures and practices
3. Repair damaged and worn mould equipment to a high standard using various engineering techniques such as spray welding, polishing, grinding, filing and machining
4. Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure the repaired equipment meet the required specification
5. Modify mould equipment to maintain quality standards.
6. Carry out checks on mould equipment using visual and precision measuring techniques to ensure that specifications are complied with
7. Record daily work carried out on job sheets to provide an accurate reference point
8. Monitor housekeeping in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules
Required skills / qualifications:
·Time served apprenticeship with a formal engineering qualification (Mechanical/manufacturing engineering)
·Experience working in a manufacturing environment
·Experience in operating CNC and manual lathes
·Good understanding of bench fitting techniques and the use of hand tools (air tools, files, grinders etc)
·Competent and reading and understanding engineering drawings
·Competent in the use and reading of precision measuring equipment such as micrometres
·Keen eye for detail and experience working to tight tolerances (+/-0.03mm)
·Experience working with metals such as Cast Iron, Bronze and Nickle
·Ability to work independently and problem solve
·Positive attitude and flexible approach towards teamwork and learning new roles

9. Salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary min £34,689 - £37,253 max.

11. Days/Afters shift Monday-Friday 7.00am- 2.30pm/2.30pm-10.00pm
