Purpose of the Job

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead programme and project management and reporting asrequired as part of the BCVS leadership and management team.
2.Lead by example and effectively manage people to ensure organisationalsuccess inline withBCVS values.
3. Horizon scan andidentify opportunities and resourceswhich will enable BCVS to take a lead role in developing consortia andpartnership bids, locally, regionally and nationally in line with our vision,values and strategic goals.
4. Ensure researchis undertaken in assessing need, being proactive and having a forward-lookingapproach to the development of income streams for BCVS services and newservices or projects to meet needs. Work in partnership with other serviceproviders, as appropriate.
5. Provide end toend support for bid development including writing high quality bids and tendersthat support delivery of BCVS strategy goals
6. Maintain aclimate that fosters effective communications and collaborative workingrelationships at BCVS, volunteers, the wider community and outside agencies.
7. Promote a healthy working environment, demonstratingleadership through personal example.
8. With support from the BCVS CEO, represent BCVS atjoint planning forums and in consortia working. Develop partnerships withstatutory, voluntary, business, faith and community organisations and keyprivate sector organisations.
9.Identify andsecure new sources of funding to enable unmet needs within Bolsover and Bassetlaw to beaddressed.
10. Ensure thedevelopment of a culture of Sustainability, Inclusion, Diversity and Equalityis strengthened throughout all Business Development work.
11. Production of reports for the board of Trustees and otherbodies as required.
12. Ensure theconfidentiality of sensitive personal and organisation information, in linewith Data Protection legislation and BCVS policies.
13.Demonstration of aflexible and positive attitudeand behaviours to support BCVS and teams to achieve BCVS goals

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
1. Professional knowledge and expertise in the Voluntary and Community Sector.
2. Understanding of the principles of organisational and staff development.
3. Experience of senior and people management in the Private, Statutory or Voluntary and Community Sector, including forming positive relationships with funders, key partners and stakeholders.
4. The ability to lead and enable innovation and change across a department or division.
5. Business and financial acumen and evidence of financial risk management tools, to ensure success.
6. Experience of community fundraising and of writing successful fundraising applications/tenders and delivery of those applications/tenders, including evaluation.
Desirable
7. A practical knowledge of Charity and contract law, including good Charity Governance.
8. Experience of developing legacy giving campaigns and income
9. Project management qualification
10. Experience and knowledge of quality assurance
