Job Description
Job Title:Chemistry Prep Team Leader
Job Type:Permanent
Hours:37.5 hours per week
Key Accountabilities
This role predominantly involves assisting the laboratory management in the following processes:
* Sample receipt and processing, overseeing work flows to ensure a same day turn around of all samples received into the preparation area.
* Preparing SOPs, Forms and necessary documentation for full auditability of the area.
* Overseeing staffing and processes during the designated shift, ensuring sample preparation functions efficiently, and preparation is performed to the highest standard and in line with documented procedures and customer requirements.
* Conducting training with staff as agreed with laboratory management and as required by the business. Effective recording and documentation of all training received.
* Ensuring all quality assurance and traceability of testing is undertaken and documented in line with the Quality Standard
* Overseeing daily production meetings and proactively participating in all other necessary operational or quality meetings
* Highlighting process improvements with a focus on continual improvements
* Performing sample preparation duties to support operations wherever required.
Qualifications
* Appreciation of accreditation issues and procedures
* Good knowledge of chemistry
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and influence staff
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually.
* Good planning and organising skills.
* Ability to work to a consistently high and reproducible standard
* Minimum of BSC or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of local and national regulations as they apply to the laboratories
* Previous experience in a commercial food chemistry testing laboratory
