The Role As a Drafts Person, youll transform customer requirements into detailed, accurate designs that meet technical and manufacturing standards. Working closely with the Sales Team, engineers, and customers, youll ensure each project delivers a practical and fit-for-purpose solution that achieves high levels of customer satisfaction. Youll produce original and adapted designs using 2D/3D CAD tools, select appropriate materials, consider manufacturing needs, and prepare full drawing packages to support production. Additionally, you will: - Respond professionally to customer and internal enquiries within agreed timescales - Maintain and update the drawings database - Stay informed on new material technologies and design developments About You To be considered as a Drafts Person, you will need: - At least one years experience using a 3D computer aided design software package - Knowledge of design and manufacturing processes - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, 2D/3D CAD and DraftSight or equivalent - Mathematical skills to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 - At a minimum, AS/A-Levels or equivalent Other organisations may call this role CAD Technician, 2D/3D CAD Technician, Design Technician, Junior Design Engineer, CAD Designer, Product Design Drafter, Design Drafter, Mechanical Design Drafter, or Mechanical Design Technician.
