Assistant Dance Teacher Wanted – Aylesbury
We're looking for a passionate and supportive Assistant Dance Teacher to join our inclusive dance programme, Doorways – a weekly dance class for students aged 13+ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Class details: Wednesdays, 4–5pm in Aylesbury during Term-time
Start date: We are ideally looking for someone to join the team from November/December.
We're after someone who is:
* Enthusiastic, reliable and kind
* Experience or love of dance / performing arts
* Comfortable interacting and working with students with a range of needs in a classroom setting.
* Happy to assist with class delivery, encouragement and energy.
* A good communicator and team player,
* Experience with SEND groups/individuals or in a teaching setting
* Has a DBS or happy to obtain one. Must be over 16 years to apply and this job role is freelance self employed.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the sign in and out procedures, such as the class register and guiding students to and from the dance studio before and after the class.
* Assiting students during the class by demonstrating moves again and encouraging participation.
* Our teaching assistants alternate if they do a seated version of the class, this ensures our wheelchair users have a version of the warmup, dance routine and cool down to copy.
* Offering adaptations of movements so everyone can get involved in the class.
* Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and creativity.
* Make it fun Chat to students and build a rapport
