We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a young child in our Early Years setting who uses a wheelchair. This is a truly rewarding role where you'll help support their learning, independence, and full participation in the school day while being part of a nurturing and supportive team.
The Role:
Foster the child's independence, self-confidence, and social skills within a caring and inclusive classroom environment.
Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and any external professionals involved in the child's development.
Assist with mobility and personal care in a gentle, respectful, and age-appropriate way.
Help tailor classroom activities and resources so they're accessible, engaging, and suited to the child's individual needs.Key Skills:
Understanding and applying correct procedures for lifting, repositioning, or supporting mobility safely.
Awareness of how medical conditions related to mobility might affect learning and wellbeing and responding calmly to any issue.
Providing consistent reassurance, praise, and a calm presence to help the child feel safe and included.
