Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical AssemblerLocation: Holbeck, Leeds, West YorkshireSalary: £38,000 per year + paid overtime at enhanced ratesAdditional Earnings: Site installation allowances and additional earning potential when working awayHours: 4-day week, Monday to Thursday, 37 hoursContract: PermanentWe are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist machinery manufacturer, working on the mechanical fitting, assembly and build of new bespoke equipment, refurbishment of used machinery, and occasional customer-site installations.The company has a full order book for the next two years, continued growth, and plenty of paid overtime available at enhanced overtime rates for candidates who want to increase their earnings.The RoleAs Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter, youll be mainly involved in:Building and assembling new bespoke production and process machineryCarrying out mechanical fitting, hand fitting, assembly and adjustment workBuilding sub-assemblies and full machinery assembliesInstalling mechanical components onto machinery buildsWorking with shafts, gears, sprockets, bearings, and gearboxesSetting clearances and making mechanical adjustmentsWorking with conveyors, guarding, pneumatics and mechanical drive systemsReading and working from engineering drawingsUsing hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipmentUsing equipment such as Verniers, height gauges and other measuring toolsModifying parts where required to ensure correct fit and alignmentWorking to tight tolerancesSupporting the dismantling, refurbishment and rebuild of used machinery when requiredSupport occasional customer-site installations, helping to install and commission the bespoke machinery you have built in-house.What were looking forWere interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in mechanical fitting, machinery assembly, bench fitting or mechanical build work.Youll need:Experience as a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Assembler, Bench Fitter or similarGood ability to read and understand engineering drawingsExperience building or assembling machinery, production equipment or mechanical systemsExperience working with shafts, bearings, gearboxes, drive systems or mechanical assembliesConfident use of hand tools and power toolsExperience using measuring equipment such as Verniers, height gauges or similarA good eye for detail and the ability to work to tight tolerancesExperience with bespoke machinery, process machinery, production machinery, conveyors, automated equipment or special purpose machinery would be highly relevant.This role may suit candidates who have previously worked as:Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Assembler, Bench Fitter, Assembly Fitter, Mechanical Build Engineer, Machine Builder, Machinery Fitter, Fitter Assembler, Mechanical Technician, Production Machinery Fitter, Special Purpose Machinery Fitter or Mechanical Assembly Technician.LocationThe role is based in Holbeck, Leeds, West Yorkshire, and may be suitable for candidates living in or around:Leeds, Holbeck, Morley, Beeston, Hunslet, Pudsey, Bradford, Wakefield, Dewsbury, Batley, Castleford, Garforth, Horsforth, West Yorkshire and surrounding areas.ApplyIf youre a hands-on Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Assembler looking for a permanent role focused on n ew bespoke machinery builds, with a £38,000 basic salary, enhanced overtime rates and a busy, down-to-earth workshop environment, this could be an excellent move.TPBN1_UKTJ
