We are working with a well-established engineering consultancy looking to strengthen their Flood Risk and Water Management team in London.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of infrastructure and development projects, delivering flood risk assessments, hydraulic modelling and sustainable drainage solutions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) to support planning applications
• Hydraulic modelling using software such as TUFLOW, Flood Modeller Pro, or InfoWorks ICM
• Development of surface water and foul drainage strategies
• Design and assessment of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
• Flood mapping and spatial analysis using GIS tools
• Technical report writing and presentation of findings to clients and stakeholders
• Liaising with local authorities, the Environment Agency and other regulators
• Supporting multidisciplinary teams across infrastructure, environmental and development projects
Requirements
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
• Experience delivering Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software (TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoWorks ICM or similar)
• Knowledge of UK flood risk policy and planning guidance (NPPF, SuDS Manual etc.)
• Experience using GIS software
• Strong communication and technical reporting skills
Desirable
• Experience with climate change modelling or flood resilience studies
• Chartered or working towards ICE, CIWEM or similar professional accreditation
