We are committed to delivering a safe and reliable train service, investing in our fleet, stations, and employees. We are recruiting a Retail Travel Advisor to work in our Booking Office in Tring on Saturdays. The hours are 07:00 – 14:30.
What does the job involve?
1. Working on a full-time, permanent basis with shift patterns including weekends, early starts, and late finishes.
2. Assisting customers with journey planning, selling tickets, and providing advice.
3. Processing cash and card payments via ticket vending machines.
4. Handling difficult situations calmly and with a customer-focused approach.
5. Ensuring station safety by reporting safety issues.
6. Delivering excellent customer service.
What skills and experience do I need?
1. Customer-focused, presentable, approachable, and proactive.
2. Ability to manage conflict and stay calm under pressure.
3. Effective communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
4. Flexible with hours and approach to work.
5. Ability to use initiative to solve problems.
6. Live within a reasonable commute to Tring station, as early starts and late finishes may require travel outside public transport hours.
7. Must be aged 18 or older for safety reasons.
What is the salary and benefits?
Salary starts at £22,846 and rises to £24,150 after probation (Pro-Rata). Benefits include:
