Job description Activities Co-ordinator and Activities Assistant Are you a trained activities co-ordinator or someone who has the passion and willingness to work towards the NAPA Level 3 Certificate? Or are you someone who wants to embrace the role of an Activities Assistant? Ingham House is a well-established, family run nursing home in the Lower Meads area in Eastbourne. We are looking for an Activities Coordinator and an Activities assistant. Being a team player is an essential part of these roles. You must be someone who enjoys the daily challenges that a busy nursing home has to offer. You will need a DBS check prior to starting. We are looking for people who are kind and compassionate. You dont need experience to become an Activities Assistant, just good written and verbal communication and IT skills. A working knowledge of health and safety legislation, and a Level 2 (QCF) Supporting Activities Provision in Social Care is a big advantage, but not essential. Ideally the Coordinator will have the NAPA Level 3 qualification in Activity Provision in Social Care or the willingness to work towards it. These are full time positions, 5 days over the 7-day week. Weekend working will be on a rota basis. Experience: Co-ordinator role to include: Organise and plan activity programmes reflecting service users preferences Produce newsletters to inform service users and their relatives / friends about what is going on Support service users to access the internet and other communication methods such as letter writing, Skype and FaceTime Plan events within allocated budget Ensure service users are at the heart of events and programmes to enhance their wellbeing Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service Activities Assistant Role to include: Supporting the Coordinator in the delivery of a planned activity programme. Supporting service users to access the activities with care, kindness and thoughtfulness.
