Overview
The Tooling Engineer is responsible for the routine and reactive maintenance and repair of tooling and injection moulds.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
The responsibilities and main duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
* Tooling Maintenance: Conduct routine tooling maintenance as required to ensure maximum up time of injection moulds.
* Troubleshooting and repairs on injection moulds.
* Diagnose tooling faults and identify appropriate methods of repair.
* Use of machine tools as appropriate.
* Make tools which are fit for purpose for the engineering team, as well as performing tool maintenance activities.
* Hands on mould toolmaking, jigs and fixtures and conventional machining techniques such as lathe work, surface grinding, milling work and spark erosion.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Completion and maintenance of appropriate records.
* Undertake other activities requested by the Injection Moulding Tooling & Maintenance Manager or Team Leader, deemed to be within the capabilities of the Tooling Engineer.
Health And Safety Compliance
* Ensure that all machinery under your control is maintained with health and safety in mind.
* Ensure that housekeeping onsite is always maintained to a very high standard.
* Report any health and safety issues to the Tool Room Manager / Team Leader.
* Use provided PPE in accordance with training and health and safety procedures.
Communication
* Inform the Injection Moulding Tooling & Maintenance Manager or Team Leader of any issues with machines or equipment requiring attention.
* Inform the company if you are unable to attend work, at least one hour before your shift commences.

Job Title: Tooling Engineer (Rotating 2 Shift)
Department: Tool Room
Reports to: Injection Moulding Tooling & Maintenance Manager
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm / 3:00pm to 11:00pm with a daily paid break of 30 minutes (one 10-minute break and one 20-minute break).
