About the role
This is a new role designed to establish and build a continuous cost focus culture in IVC that constantly asks how we can do more with less. This role will build a model where costs will be deeply challenged routinely and cost efficiency solutions shared widely and rapidly. This will require driving transparency of the drivers of cost, setting ambitious targets built off benchmarks and driving a KPI backed programme of work to achieve these targets.
1. Align our reporting to common cost categories and set local targets (budgets), clarify accountability for delivering each cost budget, establish routine reviews vs budget and forecast, set challenging objectives to drive margin enhancement
2. Work with the FP&A team to build the capability that enables us to budget from zero base rather than incremental to prior period, understand and track the underlying driver of the cost (eg rent & # clinics), establish KPIs that target the underlying driver of the cost (eg rent per clinic)
3. Compare KPIs across different geographies and functions, identify and track to KPI targets, take external view where available and appropriate
4. Establish global cost owners, cutting across geographies (eg recruitment fees owned by CPO), set global cost targets and track monthly, schedule a cycle of reviews deep diving into variances to benchmarks and identify local and global initiatives to improve
5. Leverage insights at scale globally
6. You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties for example bespoke cost benchmarking projects supporting our M&A programme
Who are we looking for?
A seasoned financial leader with a history of operating in a highly cost focused service or retail organisation with the ability to demonstrate
