Job Summary:
Wrightbus is the fastest growing production company in Europe. We are looking for a Warranty Engineer. The Warranty Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective management, analysis, and resolution of product quality concerns arising in the field.
The Role:
* Analyse warranty claim data to identify emerging issues, trends, and patterns affecting product performance or reliability.
* Investigate field failures by reviewing technical reports, customer and field team feedback, to determine recurring failure modes.
* Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers to resolve warranty-related issues.
* Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions with key stakeholders to reduce repeat failures and improve product robustness.
* Validate supplier responsibility for failures and ensure accurate records, to allow for recovery of costs.
* Support containment activities for critical or safety-related issues, ensuring timely communication and escalation.
* Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate warranty performance, risks, and recommendations to leadership teams.
* Review and validate warranty labour times, parts replacements, and repair processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to provide feedback from the field and influence design and process improvements.
* Maintain and update warranty databases, dashboards, and documentation to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
* Participate in product design reviews to provide input on historical warranty issues and potential risks in new models.
* Support customer satisfaction initiatives by improving responsiveness to recurring or high-impact warranty concerns.
* Review and interpret warranty policies to ensure consistency and compliance across dealers and regions.
* Conduct cost analysis to track warranty spend, identify major cost drivers, and support budgeting or cost-reduction initiatives.
* Coordinate part return processes with dealers, logistics, and suppliers to enable effective technical investigation.
The Requirements:
* Minimum of 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) to include English and Maths at Grade C or above.
* HND/HNC in manufacturing/engineering related discipline (or equivalent). or
* A minimum of 10-years’ experience working in a Quality/Engineering role. or
* A minimum of 5-years’ experience working in an automotive/vehicle repair role.
* Previous experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing/Quality environment.
* Demonstrate the use of RCA methodology
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Positive role model and influential.
* Excellent communicate skills both verbally and in writing.
* Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
* Ability to work on own initiative and contain problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet the requirements of the role. The role may involve working at various locations from time to time.
