We have an exciting opportunity for a DPC Project Manager to join the Commercial & Financial, DPC team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Major Projects DPC schemes are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Yorkshire Water (YW) are seeking a DPC Project Manager to lead the development of an exciting and challenging programme of major Strategic Resource Options (SROs) to enhance the long-term resilience and sustainability of water supplies in the YW area. There are 3 SROs and one resilience scheme that are being developed through the RAPID gated process, namely; York WTW, Kielder Transfer, Nottinghamshire Mine Water treatment and West Yorkshire Water Treatment Works. The total value of these four major projects in excess of £2.5Bn. Reporting to either DPC Programme Manager or DPC Senior Project Manager, the project manager will play a pivotal role in driving forward one of these high value, high profile SRO or resilience schemes, coordinating activities and resources across the project, providing strategic advice to DPC competency leads (programme, environmental, Land and planning, commercial, procurement and legal, and design) and their teams while reporting progress to senior management.
Where you fit in:
As our DPC Project Manager you will;
* As a Project Manager you will have key accountability for the successful management and delivery of the projects under your control to deliver to the business requirements including time, cost, quality, governance controls, health and safety and environmental legislation.
* You will ensure that project risks are managed in line with business targets and that any opportunities are realised to improve project performance.
* The PM must be a strong influential manager of stakeholders and be able to create excellent working relationships with our contract partners and supply chain to assist successful project delivery.
* You will be a strong manager, confident and assertive, whilst maintaining a can do attitude to problem solving and directing the wider project teams.
* You will be commercially astute and be able to deal with contractual and commercial challenges whilst providing accurate forecasting and reporting on the project performance.
* You will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery including leading the project team, driving contractor performance and ensuring the right asset is delivered to the end user.
* You will be responsible for identifying, communicating and reporting changes in line with Yorkshire Water’s DPC governance reporting.
* You will have an ability to deal with challenges and continuously strive for best practice performance.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager or project lead ideally through the development phase of major infrastructure projects.
* Thorough understanding of project/programme management techniques and methods.
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of programme/project management software (MS Project etc.) is an advantage.
* Demonstratable management and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
* Stong Stakeholder management skills in a complex, fast paced environment.
You will also benefit from having:
* People management of large teams.
* The Project Manager will ideally, but not essential, have previous experience of Ofwat interactions and an understanding of the technical features of water resources projects.
* With a working understanding of SRO’s, WRMP’s and the regulatory environment, but not essential.
* Successfully delivered programmes of work to high standards of health and safety, achieving critical business targets.
* A recognised qualification in project/programme management such as Prince 2 or APM is desirable but not essential.
* Ideally, you will have experience of working with others to drive innovation to deliver project efficiencies and cost savings for the business.
