Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering team on a long-term contract near Norwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for the decommissioning, repair and assembly of mechanical systems and assemblies in a large scale industrial environment.
Responsibilities
* Assemble and fit mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
* Ensure all work is completed to high standards and complies with health and safety regulations
* Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations
* Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or manufacturing setting
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
* Own tools (desirable but not essential)
