Accounts Assistant Client Money Team - Bournemouth Were seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance team, providing essential support across a range of legal accounting functions. About the Role: As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations. Your responsibilities will include: Managing client account payments, including currency transactions, following internal approval procedures. Reconciling client bank accounts, including foreign currency accounts. Sorting and distributing daily post across sub-teams. Handling cheque receipts, banking preparation, petty cash, and cheque writing. Processing client account receipts (BACS/CHAPS/credit card) using accounting systems and online banking, ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. Uploading matter-related disbursements and running interest calculations as needed. Assisting with preparation of client bills for property teams, ensuring they align with firm policies. Managing time transfers, write-offs, and general finance queries via phone and email. Providing holiday and sickness cover across the Accounts sub-team, including purchase ledger tasks. ? What Were Looking For: Were looking for a reliable and adaptable individual with: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Previous accounts experience (preferable). Experience in professional services or a legal environment (desirable). Strong numerical ability and attention to detail. A team-focused attitude with excellent communication skills. Solid organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines. A self-motivated, professional and flexible approach to work. The ability to work confidentially, under pressure, and with tact and discretion. Confidence using Microsoft Office and accounting systems. A willingness to learn and develop within the role. ?
