Maintenance of financial and payroll records; electronic submission of VAT and PAYE data; preparation of accounts to TB stage; associated administrative tasks.
Job Description
Purchase Ledger:
* Verify supplier invoices
* Computer input
* Prepare schedule of supplier payments
Sales Ledger:
* Prepare invoices from delivery notes
* Forward invoices to customer
* Ledger update
* Pursue overdue accounts
Bank accounts/Credit card/Petty cash:
* Download Transactions
* Ledger entry
* Reconciliation
Payroll:
* Prepare weekly schedule of earnings & deductions
* Enter data to payroll software
* Submit RTI data
* Prepare schedule of employee payments
* Nominal posting
* Monthly PAYE payment
Nominal Ledger: (End Mar/Sep)
* Prepare working papers
* Prepare schedule of journals
* Forward these and TB to accountants
VAT:
* Input scale charges/car mileage VAT
* Reconcile VAT
* Submit MTD data
Sundry admin:
* Print and file accounting reports and documents
* Monitoring and ordering office supplies
* Providing administrative and clerical support as needed
Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum 2 years in a bookkeeping role
* Experience of working with Sage software
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills
* Ability to enter complex data accurately and consistently
* Good computer skills, with experience of MS office
* Ability to manage personal workload and priorities, and meet regular deadlines
* Confidence and ability to pick up new systems and processes
* Desire to become an important part of a small, hard-working team
