Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer Permanent role Up to £60,000 Durham OR North Yorkshire OR West Yorkshire - Hybrid working 2 days from home A Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer is required to join a design consultancy in the North-East. You will be responsible for acting as the technical lead, dealing with day-to-day management of an engineering team, managing complex geotechnical schemes, providing advice and ensuring high quality engineering solutions within infrastructure, the built environment and property developments. Ensure compliance with local and international standards, including Eurocodes, British Standards and CIRIA reports. Work as the Technical Lead in single and multidisciplinary teams on medium to large-scale projects. Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Contribute to planning and feasibility stages. Managing and mentoring other members of the team, developing their skills and conducting training sessions / knowledge sharing initiatives. Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer - REQUIREMENTS Have Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer status. Substantial geotechnical design experience at a senior level including embedded retaining walls, gravity walls, soil nails, rock anchor systems and other remedial solutions for land slip remediation sites. Experience in major infrastructure or resource projects within consultancies. Advanced knowledge of soil mechanics, rock and soil engineering, ground improvement, retaining wall design and geotechnical software. A full UK driving license.
