Clinical Nurse Manager for Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Specialists
Job overview
The post holder will have managerial accountability for a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists and Specialist Diabetes Allied Health Practitioners, overseeing service planning, workforce development, and performance management. They will work closely with senior leadership within the directorate, commissioners, NHS Trusts, and research bodies to ensure service alignment with best practices and emerging innovations in diabetes management.
The responsibilities will be divided between strategic leadership / operational management and clinical oversight, ensuring the service remains responsive, efficient, and aligned with organisational priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
* Registered Nurse (Child) + NMC PIN
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Extensive nursing experience of caring for children and young people
* Nurse Prescriber or willingness to work towards
* Recognised Teaching, Assessing qualification
* Management or leadership qualification (or willing to work towards)
* Demonstratable clinical experience within Diabetes care
* Post Graduate Diabetes Course
* Significant post registration experience in a leadership position
* Research and audit experience in Diabetes
* Project Management
* Investigation training or willingness to undertake
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
* Specialised theoretical and clinical Knowledge appropriate to diabetes care
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Highly developed knowledge of professional standards and application in practice
* Knowledge of specific innovative techniques/initiatives
* Ability to lead and inspire a team
* Experience in the supervision and management of other staff
* Experience of teaching others in a variety of settings
* Competent IT skills in order to collect and interpret data, present reports and compile presentations in a range of contexts

Main area Paediatrics Grade NHS AfC: Band 7 Contract Permanent Hours

Salary £49,387 - £56,515 per annum, pro rata
