Learning & Development Trainer – Glasgow Employment Type: 4-Day Working Week & Hybrid Working, Exceptional Work-Life Balance Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum with benefits. Are you working in the construction industry and looking for a role where you can pass on your knowledge as a Learning & Development Trainer? Pettigrew Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading training provider to appoint a Learning & Development Trainer to their team. This is a rare opportunity for a technically-minded construction or engineering professional to step into a rewarding training role, while enjoying a genuine 4-day working week and flexible hybrid working model. If you’re passionate about developing people and want to give something back to the industry, without sacrificing your work-life balance, this could be the perfect move. This organisation truly values flexibility and understands the importance of balance. When you’re not delivering workshops on-site, you’ll benefit from a hybrid working model that allows you to plan and manage your schedule effectively across a 4-day week. The Role: As a Learning & Development Trainer, you will deliver engaging, high-quality learning programmes across the construction and built environment sector. You’ll play a key role in shaping the next generation of industry talent, supporting learners, facilitating workshops and ensuring consistently high programme standards. This role is ideal for someone from a construction, engineering or built environment background who is looking to transition into training, with full support and structured development provided. Perhaps you are looking for better work life balance, less site pressure, a more sustainable long term career or the opportunity to give something back. If any of these apply, this could be the role for you. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate engaging programme workshops using accelerated learning techniques. Support learners throughout their development journey. Plan, deliver and review workshops to meet quality standards. Shadow experienced Trainers before progressing to independent delivery. Support the preparation and delivery of team development days. Attend pre-start, progress review and close-off meetings. Collaborate with materials and creative design teams to enhance workshop resources. Manage your own diary and communications to align with a 4-day working week. As part of the wider delivery team, you will also: Chair project team meetings following workshops. Issue documentation to relevant stakeholders. Provide structured feedback to the Delivery Manager. Identify potential sales opportunities through programme delivery. Work closely with the Creative Design Coordinator to continuously improve learning materials. What We’re Looking For: We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate: A background in construction, trades, engineering or the wider built environment. A genuine passion for developing people and supporting career progression. Strong communication and facilitation skills. Confidence presenting to groups. Excellent organisation and time management skills. A collaborative, professional approach. Previous training or facilitation experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided. Training & Development: You will complete a structured six-month development programme, including: Mastering accelerated learning techniques. Understanding vocational qualifications and programme requirements. Learning workshop materials and toolkits. Developing workshop content. Shadowing and gradually delivering live modules. Ongoing professional development following sign-off. Why Apply? This is more than just a career move, it’s a lifestyle upgrade. You’ll remain closely connected to the construction industry while moving into a rewarding, people-focused role. You’ll help shape future talent, all while benefiting from: A genuine 4-day working week. Flexible hybrid working. Autonomy and trust. Structured professional development. A supportive and collaborative culture. If you’re looking for meaningful work, career progression, and a better work-life balance, this opportunity delivers all three.
