Senior Staff Counsellor – 0.6 FTE (21 hours a week)
Salary from £53,949 to £62,160 pa (pro‑rata), inclusive of London allowance, with potential to progress to £69,073 pa.
This senior role will be appointed at a higher point within the Band 7 range, reflecting the level of responsibility and experience required.

About the Service:
The LSE Student Wellbeing Service (SWS) includes LSE’s in‑house Staff Counselling Service and the Student Counselling Service. We are recruiting a Senior Staff Counsellor in this busy, friendly, and well‑respected multi‑disciplinary Counselling Service.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of LSE staff clients independently.
* Provide short‑term counselling within an organisation.
* Work with a range of clients from diverse backgrounds and a variety of presenting issues, both work‑related and personal.
* Line‑manage a staff counsellor.
* Assist the Head of Counselling Service to ensure smooth running of the staff counselling service.
* Work on campus one Thursday and one additional day.
Qualifications & Requirements
* BACP Accreditation, UKCP Registration, or equivalent registration (HPC, BABCP, BPS, BPC) as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist/Counselling Psychologist.
* Must hold the required professional accreditation/registration; individuals with BACP Membership only will not be considered.
* Significant experience providing short‑term counselling within an organisation.
* Skills in working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to work on campus Monday‑Friday, including one Thursday and one other day.
* Enhanced DBS check required; conditional on satisfactory DBS check.
