Job Description Summary
This is a Full Time Permanent Position. The role provides effective administrative support for Children, Young People and Family Services, ensuring Hull City Council children looked after care reviews, child protection conferences, and local authority designated officer allegation management meetings are organised, documented and processed to meet regulatory and statutory deadlines. It also coordinates post‑meeting follow‑up, distributes recommendations and minutes, and initiates actions to meet the immediate needs of children, young people, families and carers. The position requires high‑quality minute taking, liaison with staff and external partners, and the delivery of professional, customer‑focused administrative support.
Principal Accountabilities
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
* Undertake a range of complex administrative duties, convening and coordinating children’s looked‑after care reviews, child protection conferences, allegation management meetings and strategy meetings; prepare and collate documentation, and ensure completion of required information.
* Provide a high‑quality first point of contact and maintain effective communication channels with colleagues, the public and other agencies.
* Manage all administrative processes, including monitoring and tracking of review statistics, panel bookings and case allocation within agreed timescales.
* Maintain complex databases (Liquid Logic, Probase, SFX, Oracle) and confidential filing systems, ensuring timely updates and compliance with statutory and departmental requirements.
* Oversee the generic mailbox for independent reviewing officer and conference chair tasks, resolve issues and report in line with statutory deadlines.
* Support all team communications, including correspondence, emails and complaints related to Children, Young People and Family Services.
* Produce complex minutes from conferences and meetings, capturing information accurately and in a clear, readable format.
* Deliver excellent customer service, meeting customer promises and service standards across the service area.
* Assume personal responsibility for health, safety and wellbeing in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Council policies.
Compensation and Benefits
