The Lifeways Group in Sunderland is currently looking to expand its team of Support Workers in our local residential services.
You could be an enthusiastic person with plenty of patience looking for a career change to bring new life and experiences into our service, or an experienced Support Worker with a background in complex emotional or behavioural settings seeking a new challenge and wanting to make a difference to people with complex needs, helping them find new opportunities both at home and in the community.
At Church View apartments, residents benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, while enjoying peace and quiet when needed.
The property features level access and a lift for internal access to upper floors. There are twelve apartments, each with one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a wet room style bathroom. Ground floor apartments have patio doors leading to the communal garden.
Additionally, there are twelve accessible bungalows, each with one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and living room, and doors leading onto a shared garden.
We provide a fully paid induction, ongoing training, and support from a dedicated Manager. There is also an opportunity to undertake a funded qualification in health and social care through Lifeways Group, among other benefits.
Our approach is based on person-centred support, promoting development and inclusion in daily life within the home and community. Support activities include swimming, shopping, outings to the cinema, zoos, clubs, and more.
You will assist with household chores such as cooking, laundry, vacuuming, and dusting, and may also support with personal care tasks like bathing, toileting, and feeding.
CONTRACTS AVAILABLE
Sessional/bank hours also available (flexible working to fit around you)
Work patterns include shifts on a rota, with some weekend work
