Job Title: Metrology Technician Apprentice
Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:00 am till 4:00 pm

As a Metrology Technician Apprentice, you’ll work towards a Level 3 Certificate in Metrology, gaining hands-on experience across SGS’s UK operations while attending release training at the National Measurement Office. You'll be trained to deliver high-quality calibration services at our site in Ellesmere Port and at customer locations, contributing to the continuous improvement and expansion of our services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake training to become competent in calibration of instrumentation and meters using international standards and in-house procedures.
2. Calibrate, certify, and prove instrumentation and meters both in-house and on-site at customer premises.
3. Learn to repair meters and instrumentation to meet customer expectations.
4. Prepare accurate and standards-compliant calibration certification.
5. Maintain knowledge of relevant international standards and apply them effectively.
6. Ensure professionalism and high standards in customer communication and service delivery.
7. Keep all documentation and records up-to-date and accurate.
8. Maintain workshop housekeeping and care for company equipment.
9. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and development projects.
10. Commit to health and safety, and ensure compliance with SGS's policies and standards.
11. Attend college and complete all apprenticeship training and assessments as required.

Qualifications
5 GCSE’s which must include English, Maths and a Physical Science at Grade 6 or above plus two others at Grade 4 or above
