This leading investment firm is seeking an experienced Investment Operations Director on an interim basis. The successful individual will lead fund operations functional teams, driving operational strategy across Middle-Office oversight, Fund Accounting and Fund NAV/Pricing oversight and automation projects. Working with senior stakeholders across operations, investments, finance, risk and technology, you’ll ensure compliance, control, and efficiency while delivering operational transformation and value from key third-party relationships. The ideal candidate is a seasoned senior executive with deep asset or investment management operations experience, change management and project expertise, together with proven leadership ability.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and lead the fund operations functional teams, which provide Middle Office oversight, fund accounting and Fund NAV/Pricing oversight.
Sponsor, prioritise and lead critical change initiatives and regulatory projects.
Experience and understanding of a robust risk and control environment over unit trust valuation and fund administration oversight, work with 2nd/3rd line, Risk, Legal and Audit functions.
Oversee operational model: middle-office (trade processing, regulatory reporting, cash management), fund accounting (pricing, transfer agency, reporting).
Manage third-party relationships: fund administrators, custodians, brokers, auditors; ensure SLAs, due diligence, value delivery and service-provider optimisation.
Lead, coach and develop operational teams, embed culture of high-performance, inclusion & regulatory awareness.
Deliver operational management information (MI/KPIs) to boards and committees to support governance and decision-making.
Background Experience:
Senior leader with excellent people-management and multi-functional leadership experience.
Extensive operations leadership experience within the asset or investment management industry.
Strong working knowledge of fund operations, operating models, valuation, regulatory regimes and third-party oversight.
Expertise in the selection and deploying technology solutions to automate operations activities.
Detail orientated with an-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices including COLL, EMIR MiFID and AIFMD.
Strategic thinker with commercial acumen, strong communication skills, including board and committee experience.
Proven ability to drive transformation in an interim capacity and deliver results under time pressure.
Experienced engaging with formal governance arrangements, such as the Audit & Risk Committees, Executive Committees and Boards.
