Lead Site Reliability Engineer | Azure, .NET, Kubernetes/Docker | Build the Future of PropTech
Our client, the UK's largest property services group, is on a transformative mission to modernise their platforms, drive innovation through automation, and become a tech-first leader in the real estate space. Backed by a major financial institution and with a brand-new, tech-committed CEO at the helm, this is a rare opportunity to lead platform reliability across a business that touches millions.
This is not just a hands-on role, it’s a leadership opportunity at the centre of a £multi-million transformation programme. You’ll shape and grow a Site Reliability function from the ground up, beginning with owning the Azure-based App Platform and evolving it into a modern, scalable engineering hub for over 400 IT professionals and 100 software engineers.
Our client defines this role as ‘site reliability engineering’ but are understanding and open to you coming from a DevOps, Platform, Cloud backgrounds as these roles can be synonymous and have the same duties.
Tech You’ll Use:
* C# / .NET Core – Absolutely essential you have strong skills here, either coming from a development background or having gained strong C# .NET skills and experience
* Azure cloud environment (end-to-end responsibility)
* Terraform, BICEP, or ARM templates
Why This Role?
* Lead the function technically as well as being the lead of a future team (up to 10 headcount over time) that you will help hire, develop and manage.
* Set the culture, tooling, and technical standards for operational reliability.
* Act as both hands-on technical lead and strategic voice in cloud reliability and automation.
* Be part of a huge digital upgrade initiative across infrastructure, applications, and data platforms.
* Whilst this is a lead role, you do not have to have had a previous leadership/management position. You will however have to have the gravitas, hunger and ability to lead and grow an SRE team.
What You’ll Do:
* Own the operational reliability of a large-scale Azure cloud platform.
* Drive automation-first culture using Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell and more.
* Lead incident management, capacity planning, and performance tuning initiatives.
* Guide engineers in observability, cost optimisation, and security best practices.
* Define and track service level objectives (SLOs) to improve engineering outcomes.
* Champion a DevOps mindset with “you build it, you run it” accountability.
* Proven background in Site Reliability Engineering or senior DevOps roles.
* Strong software engineering fundamentals (especially in .NET/C#)
* Confidence in leading incident response, platform scaling, and service design.
* Someone who thrives in a matrixed, multidisciplinary structure and enjoys mentoring others.
