Supported Accommodation Manager - £41,976 per annum
Location: On site / Abergavenny NP7, UK
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
Sector and Subsector: Housing | Housing Association
Annual Fixed Salary:£ 41976.00
We are looking for a caring, compassionate and confident supported accommodation manager to help launch and lead Ty Parc, our new supported accommodation service in Abergavenny. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new Taff service from the beginning. You will lead a team supporting five care‑experienced young people aged 16+, helping them build the skills, confidence and stability they need to move on successfully into independent living.
We believe good support is built through positive relationships. This means working alongside residents rather than doing things to them. You’ll help create a safe, supportive environment where residents feel listened to, respected, and able to work towards achieving their goals.
No two days will be the same. You’ll be leading support that is shaped by real lives, experiences and progress, helping young people build trust, confidence and stability at their own pace. This is a meaningful challenge, and you’ll be supported to lead it well. At Taff we work in a psychologically informed way and aim to build resilience in trauma‑affected young people, which can bring up many difficult emotions, both for them and for the colleagues who walk alongside them.
Responsibilities
* To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Ty Parc, our supported accommodation provision in Abergavenny for five care‑experienced young people aged 16+.
* Responsible for management of risk relating to accommodation occupants.
* Acting as the service's safeguarding lead, ensuring concerns are reported and escalated correctly, maintaining safeguarding records, and liaising with the local authority's safeguarding teams.

* Managing a team of 7 colleagues delivering a rota of 24‑hour project that is open 365 days a year.
* Delivery of on‑call services as part of a rota, responding to incidents out of hours.
* Responsible for resource planning, recruitment and retention of colleagues for the accommodation provision.
* Responsible for setting out key work requirements for young people and attendance at monthly panel meetings with the local authority to review progress, outcomes and support needs.
* Working in partnership with families, the local authority and other advocates to create a supportive system around each young person.
* Representing the service in multi‑agency setting and building positive working relationships with the local authority, statutory bodies, funders and other third‑sector professionals.
* Planning and delivering on long‑term and short‑term targets/outcomes.
* Delivery of quarterly appraisals for all colleagues.
* Promoting colleagues through monthly 1:1s, reflective conversations and support that recognises the emotional demands of working in a psychologically informed environment.
* Leading the team in a psychologically informed way. Modelling, coaching and leading colleagues to be reflective and psychologically informed in their approach.
* Committed to expanding personal knowledge on psychologically informed practices relating to working with young people who have suffered trauma and guiding the staff team in those areas.
* Responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day budget management for the accommodation. Working with the head of service to budget forecast.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the community we serve, and we actively encourage applications from all backgrounds.
