Birmingham Ormiston Academy is a 14-19 academy specialising in Creative, Digital and Performing Arts. The Academy opened in September 2011 and has over 1000 students.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support the SENDCO in enabling all students to access learning, with particular focus on students with SEND.

The academy is looking for someone who has:

* A strong work ethic and a passion for learning;
* A strong desire to make a difference to the lives of our students;
* Experience in a similar role or at least 5 years' experience as a Teaching Assistant
* Experience of leading learning activities for small groups of students;
* A good understanding of important curriculum developments for students, particularly those with additional needs;
* The ability to demonstrate their ability and experience matches the job description for the role;
* The skills and characteristics outlined in the person specification for the role;
* An excellent record of attendance and punctuality.

Salary: Support Staff Scale Point 9 - £23,730 term time only (£27,254 FTE) to Support Staff Scale Point 17 - £27,910 term-time only (£31,022 FTE)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Please note: This is a term-time only role, hence the pro-rated salary range. All national pay scales are pending approval.

BOA Creative, Digital and Performing Arts Academy is a state-funded, high-performing 14 to 19 academy specialising in creative, digital and performing arts. The brand-new landmark building, located at the hub of the digital and creative industries in the West Midlands, opened September 2011. It has superb facilities for academic, vocational and extra-curricular activities. BOA is 100% selective, based on aptitude, and as a result, it is unique in its admissions criteria.

Whilst students have talent in their chosen pathway subjects, there is a full range of academic ability. Alongside their vocational courses, students in Year 10 and 11 study an additional eight GCSE's including English, Maths and Science. In Year 12 and 13 students can opt to study one or two additional A Levels.
