Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will support the kitchen staff by ensuring all areas are hygienic and well-stocked, contributing to the smooth operation of our restaurant or hotel. Responsibilities
* Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
* Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors.
* Support the organisation of storage areas, ensuring ingredients and supplies are correctly stored and labelled.
* Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to maintain a tidy workspace.
* Maintain cleanliness of floors, work surfaces, and other kitchen areas throughout shifts.
* Support the team during busy service periods by ensuring all necessary items are available for food service.
* Follow health and safety regulations at all times to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
Skills
* Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential.
* Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards.
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking and food handling.
* Reliable with a positive attitude towards work in a fast-paced environment.
