Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to lead our teams in Central and South East Scotland. As an Operations Manager, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional employability services for disabled people across Scotland, leading partnerships and programmes across central Scotland and driving the organisation forward.


Job details

Location: Hybrid, travel across Central and South East Scotland. Based at Inspire House, Eurocentral, ML1 4UF

Salary: £46,102 per annum + Excellent Benefits!

Contract: Full time, Permanent


Your responsibilities

* Setting and Upholding Standards: Lead Performance Managers, Team Leaders and Employment Coordinators to deliver high-quality services, putting client needs at the centre and maintaining rigorous standards.
* Compliance and Quality: Own quality and compliance across your region, embedding robust processes that meet contractual requirements and ensure service excellence.
* Mentor and develop: Mentor and develop Performance Managers and Team Leaders, enabling them to support Employment Coordinators in delivering outstanding services.
* Strategic Engagement: Build strong relationships with funders and commissioners, ensuring effective contract delivery and long-term partnerships aligned with our mission and vision.
* Business Growth and Innovation: Identify and pursue new opportunities, respond to emerging trends, and lead local grant applications and tenders to expand reach and impact.
* Influencing for Impact: Shape policy and support systems for disabled people in Scotland by engaging with key stakeholders to drive regional strategy and improve access to quality support.
* Managing Regional Finances: Create budgets and manage regional income and expenditure, maintaining financial stability and efficiency in your region.
* Oversee regional operations and staffing, and manage key external stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth delivery of services.


About you

Essential:

* An understanding of employability and skills structures and systems in Scotland
* An understanding of national employability policies such as No One Left Behind
* Experience of leading a performance-focused team
* Ability to coach and motivate developing leaders to deliver high performance
* Experience of managing and forecasting performance profiles
* Experience of writing impact reports
* Ability to work autonomously and take full accountability for managing and driving services
* Self-management skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
* Effective project management skills and strategic thinking for long-term goals
* Professional relationship builder with stakeholders
* Experience creating and managing budgets, delivering on financial expectations and forecasting change
* Strong attention to detail with professional presentation
* Confident communicator with public speaking experience
* IT proficiency with Microsoft packages and CRM systems
* Full driving licence and access to a car due to travel requirements

Desirable:

* Experience of working in employability outside Scotland
* Experience in business development including bid writing
* Experience working in rural areas
* Experience working with people who have multiple/complex barriers
* Experience leading managers and geographically dispersed teams
