1 x permanent post, 37 hours per week, Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri 08:00-16:00 and Wed 08:00-15:30. Location: initial base Glasgow Royal Infirmary; post may be moved to any location within NHSGGC.
Role purpose
To support effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients in a ward environment. To ensure patients’ health records are administered and processed accurately and remain confidential. The post holder will provide cover in multiple wards as required and undertake duties including reception of patients, answering telephone, appointment booking and maintaining demographic information on the patient management system.
Responsibilities
* Provide reception duties for patients and handle telephone enquiries.
* Book appointments and maintain patient demographic information on the patient management system.
* Support the Health Records service in a ward environment and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
* Provide cover in multiple wards as required.
Qualifications and skills
* Essential: previous clerical/reception experience and experience of working with the general public in a customer service environment.
* Good organisational, keyboard and communication skills.
* Proficiency in the use of computer systems.
