This role is working for a major telmunications client joining a close-knit team that are part of the Transport domain which is responsible for the Network Architecture and Design of the client's Mobile MPLS Core, Data Centres, Switch Sites, Internet Connectivity, Office Buildings, and Remote Access Platforms.
You will be working as an IP Network Design Senior / Technical Design Authority (TDA) working on the client's IP Networks. There will be times when you must get ‘hands on’ in the lab – not too afraid/precious to get a screwdriver out if needed. This role has a wide reach and will be a long-term role. You will be working with very experienced and enthusiastic team members. Typical stakeholders that you will work with are the IP Networks Infrastructure Design Manager, Head of IP and Transport Networks, Head of Connectivity Engineering, IP Networks Design & Implementation Manager. This role is fairly senior level in terms of skills and expertise. Our client is short on team members and this role could go on for a year plus. Most of the time you will be working with the Tels Security Act team. However, you aren’ting in to do one fixed thing, we are looking for someone toe in and work flexibly. Candidates will only be considered and contacted if they can evidence a strong network security background and familiarity with the Tels Security Act, together with a strong network design background in the areas of EVPN, IP, MPLS, and BGP network design, build and support in a service provider environment. Cisco and Juniper certifications are expected - ideally CCIE/CCDP or JNCIE/JNCIS with hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper Core Networking technologies, including Cisco CRS/ASR/7600 and Juniper MX/PTX family platforms. An understanding of Tels Transmission Systems is expected. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills are required for presentingplex technical concepts. Good experience of Change Control Processes. Experience of working within a mobile network operator environment would be useful. Experience of working with session enablement and management technologies such as RADIUS, IP QoS and DNS would be an advantage. You should be flexible to support out-of-hours network changes (if and when required).Flexible working options are available, but you must be prepared to work in a hybrid fashion - up to 3 days per week on site in the client's Network Laboratories in the M4/M3 corridor. Working from other sites across the UK will not be considered. Overseas candidates will not be considered - nor will anyone needing sponsorship. A maximum rate of £550 per day is available - Inside IR35.
