Location: Hybrid 2 days per week in Leeds
About the role
We are working with a leading public sector consultancy to source an experienced Product Owner for an initial 3-month contract, with scope for extension. The role sits within a national Care Identity programme, accountable for the delivery and continuous improvement of capabilities that enable secure, user‑centred access to critical digital services used by clinicians and staff across the country.
Key responsibilities
* Own and prioritise the product backlog aligned to strategic objectives
* Define product vision, roadmap and outcomes for authentication and identity services
* Translate security, policy and technical requirements into clear user stories
* Work closely with architecture, cyber security, assurance and supplier teams
* Ensure Care Identity services meet required AAL and IAL standards
* Ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-63, GPG44 and GPG45
* Use data and user feedback to continuously improve Care Identity services
* Work within multidisciplinary teams using agile methodologies
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a complex digital environment
* Strong knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles
* Practical experience with SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC)
* Familiarity with AAL, IAL and NIST Digital Identity Guidelines (SP 800-63)
* Experience with UK government standards GPG44 and GPG45
* Track record of delivering products in regulated environments using agile delivery
* Available to start immediately or at short notice
