Role Overview
Lead Complex Naval Engineering Projects Across Babcock’s shipbuilding lines of business, including Type 31, MRSS, Fast Attack Project, Corvette Project, Arrowhead 140 exports, large refit programmes, and other exciting opportunities in the pipeline. Your leadership will ensure technical excellence, manage risk, shape the future of naval engineering, and support national security while advancing your own career.
Responsibilities
* Act as delegated Technical Authority for systems/functions within a design in line with Design Authority principles.
* Manage stakeholders to ensure delivery of outputs meets project plans and contract quality standards.
* Oversee technical risk management and resolve complex engineering issues.
* Independently review technical development and assist in resolving design challenges.
* Ensure designs and supplier equipment meet contractual requirements.
Essential Experience
* Proven knowledge and experience in naval surface shipbuilding within your area of expertise.
* Ability to manage international customers and adapt to cultural differences.
* Willingness to travel internationally, including extended visits to customer sites.
Qualifications
* Chartered Engineer status and an engineering degree (or equivalent academic standard).
* Association of Project Management (APM) Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
