The Role
We are currently seeking a professional, empathetic, and experienced Sonographer to join our growing team. You will perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations—including obstetric and abdominal scans—as well as carry out blood tests offered in our clinic. This role requires a compassionate approach, a high level of clinical skill, and the ability to support families through both joyful and sensitive moments.
Key Responsibilities
● Perform diagnostic obstetric and abdominal ultrasound scans in accordance with clinical guidelines and company standards.
● Provide clear and compassionate communication with clients, offering reassurance and support throughout the scanning process.
● Identify and sensitively manage any anomalies, ensuring appropriate referral through NHS pathways or our Private GP Partner.
● Carry out blood draws following phlebotomy training, to support our clinic's full range of services (Fully funded training can be provided if required).
● Maintain accurate patient records and complete all administrative tasks with diligence and confidentiality.
● Ensure equipment is maintained and any faults are reported promptly.
● Stay current with advancements in sonography and engage in ongoing professional development.
● Uphold high clinical standards and maintain HCPC registration at all times.
● Perform all responsibilities in a timely manner to ensure smooth running of the clinic in conjunction with receptionist staff.
Requirements
● Current HCPC registration
● Proven experience working as a Sonographer in the UK
● Strong knowledge of obstetric ultrasound and abdominal scanning
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● A professional and empathetic approach to patient care
● Relevant qualifications in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent
● Willingness to undergo training in phlebotomy (if not already qualified)
● Commitment to continuous professional development
