Join our team at Siemens Healthineers as a Calibration Engineer within the Specialty Lab Diagnostics business line at our Llanberis facility.
This is a great opportunity to support a strategic project for our SLS business line and Llanberis. As a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy of equipment and instruments. This role requires a thorough understanding of calibration procedures, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to uphold quality and compliance standards.
You will collaborate with the instrument knowledge transfer team to develop best practices in process design and manufacturing flow, ensuring a smooth ramp-up and development of a world-class manufacturing operation at Llanberis. The role is based on a schedule of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Job Responsibilities:
* Perform calibration of equipment and instruments according to procedures and standards.
* Maintain accurate records of calibration activities and results.
* Troubleshoot and resolve calibration issues promptly.
* Ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Develop and implement calibration protocols and procedures.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure measurement reliability and accuracy.
* Provide technical support and training on calibration topics.
* Manage inventory of calibration tools and equipment.
* Participate in process improvement initiatives.
* Act as the site SME for instruments and support business initiatives.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Support internal and third-party site audits.
* Participate in operational meetings, report on KPIs, and own operational performance.
* Ensure compliance with QMS and SHE legislation.
Your Skills & Experience:
* Curious, eager to learn, with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Proficiency with testing and calibration equipment.
* Attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
* Experience working in fast-paced environments.
* Knowledge of GDP & GMP practices.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s in engineering, metrology, or related field.
* At least 3 years of calibration and maintenance experience.
* Knowledge of calibration standards and procedures.
* Proficiency with calibration software.
* Experience in regulated industries like pharma or medical devices.
* Calibration certification (e.g., ASQ).
* Problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Familiarity with Lean principles.
