Job Details
The role involves assisting in Roads and Transportation related projects whilst undertaking study towards an Honours degree at Dundee University. You will mainly work within the Structural Services team within Roads & Transportation Services based in Bankhead Central, Glenrothes.
You will assist in planning, designing, specifying contracts, and implementing projects. You will also undertake tasks related to the management and maintenance of assets like Roads, Road Structures, Lighting, Harbours, and Flood Prevention assets.
This work requires mental agility and physical effort, including site work such as inspections and supervision, possibly at heights, in live traffic, or watercourses.
During the first 4 years, you will undertake an SCQF Level 10 (Honours) Degree in Civil Engineering at Dundee University, attending university 1 day per week for 44 weeks annually. Workplace learning and mentorship will support your degree achievement. Progression through pay grades depends on successful assessments each year.

The Person
You should have sufficient qualifications for entry to the degree course, such as 4 Highers at Grade B or above. You must demonstrate commitment to managing full-time employment and study, possess good communication and IT skills, and have an interest in a Civil Engineering career in the public sector, including professional qualification aspirations.
