Our Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in KS1 or KS2. Our Bromley school is a mainstream school but caters for children with speech, language and/or communication needs (SLCN). The school is led by a highly experienced SEN Lead Teacher. This role is ideal for those passionate about helping children in a primary setting, particularly with learning difficulties.
The successful candidate will be on a long-term contract, working 32.5 hours per week (8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday) during Term Time plus 1 week inset. We offer a supportive working environment with friendly staff and pupils!
Role Responsibilities
The main aim is to support teachers in delivering academic excellence with professionalism and enthusiasm. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting students with their educational and social development, both individually and in groups
* Supporting students inside and outside the classroom to participate fully in activities
* Helping teachers maintain student records
* Building positive relationships with students, treating them with respect
* Delivering personalized curricula for each pupil’s learning needs
* Collaborating with families and agencies to support each pupil
* Ensuring pupils make sustained academic and personal progress
All staff are expected to participate in the overall running of the school and act as positive role models, promoting positive behaviour and managing any situations that could impact students’ progress.

About Our Academy
Our new two-form entry primary academy, opened in September 2017, caters to children aged 3-11. We initially started with Reception to Year 2 and have expanded to Year 6, with full capacity each year.
The academy features brand-new facilities, a nursery, and a centre for children with speech, language, and communication needs.
