Pay
Pay Rate in the role starts from £15.59 per hour, increasing to £16.86 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply based on location.
Availability and Working Hours
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week; shift availability windows will be communicated with 3 weeks' notice. You may also request fewer hours, down to a minimum of 12. Flexibility is welcomed.
Responsibilities
* Work in a fast‑paced retail environment and support customers on the shop floor.
* Take ownership of running duty shifts and coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well‑stocked store that exceeds customer expectations.
* Listen to customers and help ensure they leave satisfied.
* Look for ways to improve service, coach colleagues, and give feedback.
* Guide and support colleagues to maintain a safe shopping environment.
* Maintain a clear understanding of store performance and assist managers with improvement actions.
* Lead from the front, setting a great example for the team.
* Coordinate store team to deliver an easy, fuss‑free shopping experience.
* Support colleagues in meeting daily priorities and taking regular breaks.
* Open and close the store, ensuring all decisions support safety.
* Act as the go‑to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager.
* Keep the store clean, tidy, and well‑presented.
* Support managers with seasonal, community and charity events.
* Contribute to a positive team atmosphere, inclusive of everyone.
* Provide excellent customer service by listening and putting customers first.
* Keep the team informed on communications, changes or updates.
* Stay knowledgeable about store performance and identify improvements.
* Coordinate store improvements and remove obstacles blocking service.
* Follow health and safety routines and procedures.
* Recognise and celebrate colleagues providing great service.
* Role model thoughtful customer service, ensuring each customer's needs are met.
* Build strong, inclusive relationships with colleagues, encourage teamwork.
* Communicate effectively using varied methods.
* Take the lead during managerial absence and provide decisions that satisfy customers and staff.
* Remain motivating, inspiring team to exceed expectations.

Candidate Requirements
Applicant must be aged 18 or over. The role may involve working before 6:15 am, after 9:45 pm, and tasks in warehouse, beer, wine, spirits, counters, bakery, and driving roles – all of which require candidates over 18.
